OVER COMING USAJOBS
Good luck John. If I may add that USAJobs is a website owned by Monster.com. I made a call to the agencies today regarding this thread and was told that most of the applications are scored automatically thanks to a new algorithm formula that Monster instituted into the interface. This automation only searches by keywords and measures the amount of keywords from the announcement to indicate the level of success or likelihood of the applicant. I was told that a little secret is that many people have been attaching the actual announcement to their cover letters in order that the algorithm scores them high enough to place in the top 5%-10% of the hiring pool. How interesting that even the federal government is going high tech in HR but with some flaws and work around. Just thought that I would pass the information along. If it were me, I would hire into a plan B and then try to transfer into what really makes me happy. GS is GS I'm afraid. Again best of luck to you and hope this helps.
